Homicide: *** Updated 8/3/2026: The individual identified as voluntarily surrendered at 6:00 PM to Police Headquarters, accompanied by his legal counsel. Mr. is scheduled to be processed regarding his murder warrant at the Franklin County Jail.*** On July 28, 2026, at 2:09 a.m., Columbus Division of Police patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Brandy Dr. on a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult victim, identified, aged 22, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local area hospital by Madison Township M183, and was pronounced deceased on July 28, 2026, at 2:54 a.m. Notification of next of kin has been completed. The initial investigation has identified the suspect as 23- year-old Darren D. Jr., for whom a warrant has been issued. Currently, Mr. has not been apprehended. The evidence suggests that the motive behind this shooting is related to domestic issues.
