The Homicide Squad reports the details of a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Hempstead. According to Police, officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:21 am at 16 Angevine Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals that sustained life threatening gunshot wounds in a residence. The victims were pronounced at scene. Detectives have deemed there is no additional threat to the public. The investigation is on-going. All callers will remain anonymous. ***UPDATE*** The subject of the homicide investigation has been identified as [subject] of Hempstead. The victim, brother of the shooter, has been identified as [subject] of Hempstead. [subject] the victim, he turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
