SHOTGUN FIRED IN GRAYLYN CREST COMMUNITY LEADS TO ARREST

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, at approximately 5:10 p.m., officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the Graylyn Crest community for a report of a male walking along the roadway and shooting a shotgun. Before officers arrived, they obtained a description of the suspect and located him sitting on a swing in the front yard of a residence in the 1800 block of Graywell Road. The suspect, who was unarmed at the time, was taken into custody without further incident. Officers identified him as a suspect. During the investigation, officers determined that the suspect had located a camera affixed to a sign in the area and used a shotgun to shoot at it, damaging the camera.
