Man dies after shooting in North Philly on Wednesday, police say

A man was shot just before 3:30 p.m. on the 4900 block of Old York Road in the Logan section of North Philadelphia. The victim was transported to the hospital by private car and was pronounced dead at approximately 3:37 p.m. The victim was identified as Zafier Smith, 29, of Philadelphia. No motive or weapons connected to the incident were found. The case is under investigation by PPD Homicide Unit.
