A 17-year-old boy from Torrington was shot Friday morning on Dixwell Avenue between Charles and Webster streets; police responding to a ShotSpotter alert and 911 calls around 8:20 a.m. found the victim, who was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital in critical condition.
