Homicide: On October 15, 2026, at approximately 9:26 PM, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the area of Sullivant Avenue and Binns Boulevard on a report of an injury accident. Officers arrived at the scene and found an adult victim, who had been struck by a vehicle on Sullivant Avenue. Columbus Fire Medic 817 personnel arrived and transported to an area hospital. Despite all efforts by medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased at 10:02 PM. Next of kin have been notified. It was determined that had been assaulted by a male and left in the moving lanes of Sullivant Avenue, causing him to be struck by the vehicle. Responding officers located this male, Michon Minyard nearby. Minyard was arrested without incident. Minyard was subsequently charged with Murder and Felonious Assault. The driver of the vehicle striking Cooper remained at scene and was not related to the argument/assault. The driver was not charged.
