Homicide: On September 5, 2026, the victim was transported to Grant Medical Center by her boyfriend and the suspect from this incident for injuries she sustained while at their residence. The victim was then transported to OSU Main due to the complex nature of the injury. A detective from the Domestic Violence unit responded to the incident and charged the suspect with felonious assault and other relevant charges. On October 16, 2026, the victim was pronounced deceased from the injuries sustained from the September 5, 2026 incident. On October 21, 2026, the Columbus Police Homicide Unit was notified of the coroner's ruling that the victim's cause of death was determined to be a homicide. The suspect's charges will be upgraded to include a murder charge for causing the death of the victim.
